Meet Toni Wright, a member of Local 888 at Rutgers University and recipient of AFSCME New Jersey's Everyday Heroes Award. Toni has always felt called to serve her community, but it wasn't until a knock at the door of the church this year where she lives with her husband that she was compelled to create a regular food pantry for the members of her neighborhod and beyond. Since that day, Toni and her husband have donated hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours of effort into making sure The Church of our Savior always has something to offer the people in their Newark community any time they knock on the door. Toni has inspired her friends, her family and her Union to donate to her ongoing efforts and she has a vision to expand the food pantry with the help of those donations.
